Back to the Past: The Planet of
Oobleck

Scientist. Scientist are usually the people who
think harder and invent more
inventions than anyone. Am I right. What you
will find in this story is scientist
whothink harder than their brain can expand to
invent something extra
ordinary to help them-selves get off a planet of
strange things.
Oobleck is a thick liquidy substance that makes
up the home planet of 19
year old Roland, 32 year old Shawn, 20 year old
Liz, and 21 year old Ian.
Their planet iscalled the Planet of Oobleck.
Their planet is just like ours but
the ocean is made up of oobleck. If you were to
go to the Planet of Oobleck
you would be amazed. You wouldn't believe your
eyes. It's like nothing you
have ever seen before. But that's only to us
people who don't live on the
Planet of Oobleck. But for those who do, they
are
sick of it. They could care less about what
their ocean is made up of, I mean
they lived there for their whole life.
The Planet of Oobleck is very small and they
only have 1 mountain there. It is
called Mt. Miraculous. It's not like that
mountain just miraculously came there,
they have volcanoes there too. I told you it was
just like earth.
Well on Mt. Miraculous they just got this new
telescope. Well scientist Ian was just fooling
around with this telescope and he miraculously
found or discovered a planet.
He was so amazed. He went for days talking about
this knew planet until
scientist Roland made a brilliant suggestion, "
How about we do what no man
or woman has done and go where no man or woman
has been and take a
little visit to this undiscovered planet!" They
thought
the planet was undiscovered because there wasn't
anything on it. But they put
Rolands suggestion into some
consideration.Shawn, the head scientist says
that they will fly there. Everyone agrees. Well
everyone has to agree because
he's the boss. Everyone puts in their ideas,
*Blows fire
*Rocket boosters
*Oobleck proof
*Water proof
*It flys
*Shaped like an egg
*Big propellar on the bottom
*Made of wood
*Latex wrapped around bottom
Plans changed, Shawn said that the ship had to
take off in the oobleck ocean
because the propellar cannot touch the ground.
Everyone knew this would not
be an easy project and it wouldn't be done
really fast but they knew they
would have fun and learn a lot of things making
this fire blowing, propellar
spinning, rocket boosting, wooden floating,
light blinking spaceship. They
went to work! When the crew was done they
celebrated for hours then they
went to bed. They have never been so warn out in
their lives. But they were
satisfied with what they built and they planned
to leave in one week. This is
how the space ship came out.
One week passed and every one was packed and
anxious to leave. They
aboarded their ship and admired their hard work.
Once everyone was seated Shawnand Liz hopped in the
control seats. "Everyone
ready?" "Ready!" They
turned on thefire to make the oobleck into
powder, they spun the propellar,
the ship started to lift from the oobleck and
right at that moment they turned
on the rocket booster and Sssshhoomm!! They were
gone. They were
moving so fast you couldn't follow them with
your own eyes. Not one of the
passengers could talk because the ship was
moving so fast. But the ship
slowed down. Ian looked out of the window and
screamed, "AAHhh there's
the planet, the beautiful golden....." "warner,
lets call the planet warner," said
Liz. "Good idea,"Said Shawn. But shawn said
everyone should go to sleep
now because it will take about 8 hours until we
land on warner so...go ahead.
Of course no-one could go to sleep so they
played Monopoly for 8 hours. 8
hours past. Roland won the game. Everyone felt
like they could go to sleep
now. But the day wasn't over. Once they seen
planet warner it was like they
re-charged. It was like the became so hyper and
energetic. Especially
because they was much closer to the planet.
"Everyone please remain in your
seats and buckle up, and thank you for flying
oobleck airlines. We will be
landing shortly," said Shawn. No one laughed.
BooM! Everyone fell of their
seats. "What the..." said Roland. Shawn and Liz
run out of the control room.
"Hey stays in your seats, and who's flying the
plane if you two are out here,''
said Ian. Shawn remarks sarcastically, " if
we're out here and a while ago we
said to stay in your seats because we were
landing soon, well it is soon and
guess what?" "We landed!" screamed Roland. The
first step Roland took.
