Mission to the
Planet Oobleck
The mission to Oobleck was
the biggest space trip in the century. This will be
the first time someone will travel to this
mysterious planet. Oobleck is forty million miles
away from Earth. Chantel, Shalayne, Kelsey, Kristin
and Kaylene are the crewmembers assigned to this
mission. Each astronaut was different from the
other except for the twins, Kelsey and Kristin.
Chantel was a neat and organized person, which
always had things categorized in order. She needed
to have things her way. If someone wanted to go
bike riding and she wanted to go rollerblading, she
would keep on arguing till she won. Chantel is the
Captain of the ship. Shalayne is different from
Chantel. She is the Pilot of the ship. Shalayne is
flexible and thoughtful with other people's
feelings and desires. The next person going on this
trip was Kayla. Not many people liked Kayla because
she was bossy, and is never serious/is always
goofing around, and is so messy she never cleans up
after herself. Kayla is the Co-Pilot and will be
assisting Shalayne. She was always picking on
people if she didn't care for you. Then there's
Kelsey and Kristin the twins who are responsible to
keep the ship clean. They both don't look like each
other but have similar personalities, such as being
quiet, shy and don't share their desires. The last
person was Kaylene who was happy and always
laughing. She was also so loud that you could hear
her a block away. Kaylene will be the engineer if
any mechanical problems occur.
Ship's name, Ipu was about
to be launched into space. Captain Vernon was doing
the countdown. The count down began 5… 4…
3… 2… 1… BLAST OFF!!! Everyone that
was working at the space site was jumping for joy
when the space ship lifted off successfully. The
Ipu was in the air and heading for Oobleck. The
girls were so thrilled since they couldn't see
anything but stars. They were in the galaxy for so
long that they thought they would never reach
there.
When Ipu was getting ready
to land on the planet Oobleck. The cork on the ship
came out and landed on the Oobleck successfully,
but was a little bouncy. Chantel looks around and
said, "We can go outside, the oxygen level is
normal". "Move out of my way", Kayla said very
rudely. The girls looked around the planet to see
if there were any signs of life. Then five aliens
suddenly started to come out from the Oobleck very
slowly. The creature that came walking towards them
was bright red. All the girls froze. The creature
said, "Haaiii", in a loud voice. The girls said,
"HI" very softly and timid. Then other aliens
started to come towards the ship. The alien told
the humans that they were Oobleckians. The girls
introduced themselves. The girls were very hungry
since the long journey. So the Oobleckians told the
girls if they wanted to feast on some of their
traditional grinds. The girls said yes since they
hadn't eaten for a days. So Oo (head of the
Oobleckians) took them to a place were Oobleckians
love to eat, Green Shack. They ate food that was
strange to them, but tried it. Oo asked each girl
what she thought about the food. Chantel said that
the thing looked like bacon, thought it was very
interesting. Oo said that it was called boo.
Shalayne was just happy that she had something to
eat and satisfy her hunger. Kelsey and Kristin just
said that it was good. Kaylene started laughing and
said that the food looked like it was in the
microwave and was heated for hours. Kayla said that
the food was terrible and that she wanted real
food, a hamburger. Oo said that he was sorry, but
this is what we eat here. Chantel told Kayla that
she should be happy that these people gave them
something to eat. If not then they would have
starved. Captain Vernon started to speak on the
microphone and told the girls that they needed to
come back home. As they tried to release the corks
one of them got stuck. The aliens helped pull out
the cork. The Oobleckians waved goodbye. Then the
Ipu was on her way home.
As they were in outer space
they saw their beautiful planet called Earth. The
Ipu made a safe landing at the space base. "Welcome
back girls", said Captain Vernon. The girls told
the Captain about their amazing adventure on
Oobleck and the inhabitants. They told the Captain
that they played Oobleckian games. One of them was
called Oockers. The game was kind of like checkers
only with the green rocks from the planet. The
Captain was so joyful that the girls had a good
time. He said that the main mission was to make
them get along better. Since the girls got along so
well Captain Vernon said, "So what do you say about
another space trip to Oobleck to meet your
friends".
