Mission To Planet Oobleck
" Fifty years ago we tried this mission and it
failed. My grandfather was on that ship and he was
stuck on Planet Oobleck forever. I want to fulfill
his dream." That was the speech I said in front of
many people. " For the next nine months I will
train, and I will train hard, no matter what it
takes."
I could hear the crowd cheering and at the same
time hear questions being asked about the Planet
Oobleck mission. " One year ago my fellow
teammates debated on whether to go or not. Bleys
and I wanted to go but Kalena and Kimo didn't want
to go. We debated for at least two months and we
finally made a decision. I could hear the crowd go
silent until, " We will be going on this mission."
I could hear the crowd burst in cheers.
Two months later: " C'mon guys we can't give up
now. Learning how to use the bathroom isn't that
hard."
" It is to us," said Kimo, Kalena and
Bleys.
" Look do you want to go on this mission or
what?"
" Yeah guys, Tano's right we have to try
harder." said Bleys
Later: " Gentlemen I would like you to meet
your spacecraft, the Black Hawk!" Mr. Carr
said.
" Looks like a helicopter to me." Kalena
said.
" Oh it is, but not just any helicopter. This
baby can go as fast as the speed of sound. It also
has two electrical powered tug wires so in case you
guys get stuck you fire it back to earth and it
lands in two holes in the ground. Those holes will
close up and slowly drag you out. But you really
wouldn't need it for at the bottom of the
spacecraft there is a double layer of latex that
keeps the Oobleck from coming on. In case of any
aliens we have two gas powered beams that will fry
at least ten million aliens at once."
" Okay folks, I'm convinced this is about the
best spacecraft in the galaxy." I said.
" And the biggest spacecraft in the galaxy.
This thing is about the size of two football
fields." Mr. Carr added.
" It also has propellers that can spin as fast
as the speed of sound." Ms. Lau said.
Ms. Lau is Mr.Carr's head assistant.
Liftoff Day: " Gentlemen, today is the day.
Now go and put your spacesuits on."
" Man, these suits are hard to put on." said
Kalena
" Stop your whining Kalena, it's just a suit,
don't be a pussy." Bleys hollered.
" I'm not being a pussy. I'm just saying it's
hard to put on." Kalena said.
" Both of you stop your bickering. We have a
mission ahead of us so we gotta stay focused." I
said
" Yeah guys, Tano's right, this mission can
become history as in we can become famous." Kimo
said.
" Forget the famous." I said.
Later: Over the P.A. we heard Mr.Carr "
Astronauts please report to the launch pad. We're
ready for you."
" Alright guys let's do it." said Kimo. Once
everything was set, we heard Ms. Lau say "
Everybody please step away from the launch pad.
Ten seconds till launch... nine... eight... " Let's
go guys." I said... seven... six... five... four...
three... two... one...
" We have liftoff." Kalena said.
" Oh Yeah." I said. I could feel the rocket on
the outside shaking, and I could fell my seat
shaking alot.
" Heading through the atmosphere." Kimo
said.
" Hang on guys." Bleys said.
" We are in space." I said. " Wow this is
awesome."
" The earth looks like the earth from hear."
Kalena said
" No duh." Bleys said
" I can't believe we are actually doing this."
Kimo said
" How are you guys doing up there?" Mr. Carr
asked.
" We're fine." Kalena said.
" Let's go to sleep." I said, " How long should
I turn the dial for?"
" About two months, that's how long it will take
to get there." Kimo said
Two months later: " Wow look at that. I wonder
what it's like down on Planet Oobleck." I
said.
" Well it looks bluish greenish to me and the
ocean is green. It looks like somebody hurled."
Kalena blurted out.
" I wonder if there are aliens down there.
Their skin can be bread and the guts can be peanut
butter and jelly." Kimo said.
" Get real Kimo." Bleys said.
" Landing in five... four... three... two...
one... touchdown!" I said. I can't believe it, I
thought to myself, we actually made it to Planet
Oobleck.
" This is cool!" Kimo shouted.
" Uh, what is that?" Kalena added. Boom!
" Something just shot us man." Bleys
yelled.
" It's aliens. We're being attacked. I told
you this was going to happen." Kimo yelled.
" Let's fight 'em. Get you guns ready. Bleys
you get the gas beam powered up." I said.
" Die you aliens!" I heard Kalena scream. Once
the beam hit the alien, the alien turned into a
peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
" I told you guys." Kimo shouted.
" Aaaaaaaaaaggggggggg!" I heard Bleys yell. I
could tell he was ready. That was his war cry. "
Go to Hell or wherever you came from!" Bleys said
hoarsely. The gas beam shot out and everything
turned white.
" Whoa!" Kimo said covering his eyes. Once the
light was gone we saw millions of sandwiches.
" Cool." Kimo said.
" Mission Control, We've been attacked by
aliens. They're all dead. We're coming home!" I
said. I could hear everybody shout for joy. I
turned to Bleys, Kalena and Kimo and said " Let's
go home boys."
" So can we go on another mission like this
again sometime?" Kalena said.
" Yeah this Mission was kind of fun. What are
you guys going to do?" Kimo said.
" I don't know. Only if Tano goes, then I will
go. So how about it Tano, are you going to go or
what?" I could see Bleys leaning towards my mouth
to hear what I was going to say next.
" This Mission changed my life. It tought me
about how to fight and it even tought me about life
and love." I said.
" Okay I'm not fully comprehending you. What
are you tring to say?" Kalena said.
" This whole Oobleck thing changed my life about
war and stuff... and I thought it was cool, how
about we go on another Mission like this?" I
yelled.
" Yeah!!!"
