Getting There and Back In Time

In the beginning of time, before anything happened, god created the heavens and the earth. God thought that the earth was enough space for everyone to live on. He saw it as a good piece of work. As time went by, many things happened, and the population in each country was increasing. The people knew, that sooner or later, the earth would be filled with people, and there would not be enough space for others to live on. So they had to do something about it.

Dear Diary,

Scientist's have said, that in a couple hundred years, the earth will be over populated and there will not be enough space for everyone to live on. So because of this problem, H.I.5.0. has been set out to discover another planet that has all the properties of earth that are needed. If not that, then at least have water on the planet.

As a part of H.I.5.0, I will be going up into space. I am scared, nervous, and my heart is pounding very hard at this moment. I don't know anything about or how to use most of the tools I will be working with. I do have knowledge of space, and know most of the things I need to know.

We have discovered one planet, and it has all the things that earth had except for two things. The sea is made up of oobleck, and there are no people or specimen. If there are no people or specimen that live there, that means, no one has ever seen of experienced this planet before. I think that it's pretty cool to be one of the first ones to set foot on the planet Oobleck.

To be one of the first people to set foot on planet Oobleck amazes me. Although I have no knowledge of how to use the tools or anything, I have been trained the basics of what to do when certain things happen, and how to work with the tools we are going to be working with in space. We launch in forty-eight hours and I am very excited.

Your Friend,

Cilia

Dear Diary,

Our launch was successful. Right on the dot of zero, we took off. Our engine started up with fire sparks, and then we shot up into the air with a tail of white smoke trailing behind us. Earth became smaller and smaller as we moved farther away from it. It became so small; it felt as if I could hold it in my hand.

I am now sitting in my room awaiting the landing on planet Oobleck. I share a room with my best friend Kiani. We are very good roommates and have bee best friends since we were little kids.

During the time we have on the ship, we do everything together. We agree on what's going to be done and then do it. I had a lot of fun today playing Ping-Pong with her. I haven't played that game in ages! I really like my best friend and hope to be her friend forever.

Now back to the subject on the planet Oobleck. I have been doing some research about planet Oobleck. I have got all the information we need, except one missing part. The information I got is that this planet contains all the properties of earth that we need in order to live. What I don't have is how the sea of oobleck works, the properties, etc.

Our plans change because of this problem. Originally we were just supposed to go and make sure everything was okay to land, the planet is okay to live on, and return back home. But now, our spaceship has to stay and experiment with this oobleck.

This project was only supposed to take us three years. But has been extended to six. Looking at the time limit may not have enough time to stay six years here. We are going to have to figure out how to experiment to see all the properties of oobleck and return back home on time. I don't know just how we are going to do it, but we might just come in late. But for now, we need to concentrate on getting there.

Your Friend,

Cilia

Dear Diary,

Today on the ship, our computer system shut down. Everything turned off and nothing was working. Our computer man did everything he could. But nothing would work to turn the computers on. So my captain shut off the whole entire ship and left us afloat in space. I started to panic thinking about all the things that could happen.

It's been three days so far now since we have been going without power. I am still a little shaky and scared, but I stayed as calm as possible. I am using my spare time to write in you. I am scared and I feel as if I want to return home. But I was sent up here to complete my job, do my best on it, and return home with my head held high. So that'd what I am going to do.

Well then, Oh Wow! The power on the ship has finally turned back on. We are still on track of the trace of the planet and we are still headed in the correct direction. We are safe, and have been saved by the power of God. (Thank you Heavenly Father!) the estimation that we will be there is by tomorrow morning.

I need to get some rest so my mind can be full rested for tomorrows experimenting. Tomorrow when we do our experiments, we need pay attention to what we are doing and think carefully before we do anything. I can't be tired and make careless errors on my data.I need to be very specific and record my data very carefully. So for now, I must go.

Your Friend,

Cilia

Dear Diary,

We have finally landed! We needed to figure out where to land. So we decide to land on the deeper part of the oobleck. Our freezer sprayer came out because the oobleck was a watery substance. (When we hit a watery substance, our freezer sprayers automatically come out.) We had a successful landing, and everything has gone good so far.

Today the data I gathered was very important. I gathered all the properties this planet included. As I looked at the data that I collected and the information I found before, I found that all of it was true. The properties of this planet are exactly like earth, except they have the sea of oobleck. I found this oobleck quite fascinating.

I took out a bit of the oobleck to experiment and test out what it is like. I haven't found anything yet, but I soon will. Well, tomorrow is another one of those long days. I have to go to sleep and do work that's even harder tomorrow.

Your Friend,

Cilia

Dear Diary,

I am sorry for not writing in you for quite a while. My research has taken my time away from writing in you. Right now, we are stuck. Not in space, but on this planet. Our engine has been dried up with oobleck and it won't go.

So, to help the oobleck come off, we are using our water sprayer. Looking at the progress we have made, I estimate that we will be returning home by tomorrow morning. We have completed our job and have completed it within three years and not six. Since we have finished everything on time, we will be able to get back home in time. I can make a difference in the world. Got to go now!

Your Friend,

Cilia

Dear Diary,

We finally got the engine going. I am already back home and feeling great. My trip has been a great long one. I still have more work to do on this planet, but I will have more time to write in you. We have all the information we need, but still have to see how people could survive on this planet. Especially with the sea made up of oobleck.

Thanks for being there for me when I was sad and scared. I really appreciated you when you did everything to help me get through my hard times. I'll catch you later because I got to go to work now!

Your Friend,

Cilia

H.I.5.0 completed what they went into space and came back home for. They fulfilled their task within the time limit they had. Planet oobleck is now used as a planet for people to live on. Earth is no longer over populated and everything is okay.
