E7: Ready for Planet Oobleck!
Like the sound of a regular day at the new York
stock market, the NASA workers roared, "10, 9, 8,
7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, ! We have lift off!"
With a shadow of nervousness, Captain Aaron
announced, "E7 has successfully made it to
space."
"Okay, I just checked the navigation and we are
going in the correct direction,"confidently,
affirmed Jonathan.
"Hello Jonathan, did you just learn about north,
south, east, west because I know for a fact that
our navigation is off by 50 degrees," yelled JP in
earnest. "Jonathan you can be so dumb sometimes. It
seems like you only want to prove that you can be
better than others." JP just kept going on with all
of these reasons of Jonathan, not being able to
become a scientist.
Nalani is a scientist/ engineer and she was
getting fed up with JP's ignorance. Beginning to
turn the color of a red apple, Nalani stood up to
Jp. As her face became more enraged, the mood
quietly overtook the spacecraft. No one would dare
speak to her because they knew that she boxes. JP
also being a scientist/ engineer, made Nalani
mad.
Jonathan aroused from his seat with his palms as
moist as the clouds. To him it seemed as if it took
him a century to stand up. His overbearing words
trembled out of his mouth. He paused, then exploded
like a firecracker to JP. "How dare you call me
dumb. Me trying to learn more and to practice of
what I want to do is the quarrel of this isn't it?
You don t want somebody better than you? Well,
watch out because I m coming." JP looked up at
Jonathan as if he was a leprechaun and Jonathan
being a skyscraper that reached the heavens. JP had
kept his mouth shut with Jonathan s trembling words
overwhelming him. But JP continued to look
aggravated at the fact that everyone on the
spacecraft had taken Jonathan's side.
Paul, a stocky little man enjoys being a
geographer. He suggested his ideas on getting back
on the correct navigational field. Yet JP isn't t
the only narrow-minded personon this spacecraft.
Holly who is a scientist, had criticized Paul's
ideas. Nalani thought in her mind, "So ignorant."
Victoria, a writer, interrupted Nalani's
thoughts.
"Why don t we try Paul's ideas," Victoria
declared. Paul had explained his ideas, and to work
they went trying to set the navigation
straight.
"Passengers of E7, this is your captain
speaking, we have a problem. Something has happened
to E7's system so it is going into complete shut
down and I cannot contact. NASA. But don t worry, I
think I know what the problem is."
"Step away Captain I got this under control,"
exclaimed JP.
"Excuse me, but I m Captain of this spacecraft.
I don t see you wearing this genuine Captain patch
on you." JP was sp fed up with Captain Aaron, that
he threw an uppercutinto Captain Aaron's stomach
and a punch to his nose. Captain Aaron's hands were
tight with his veins popping out, daring you to
fight. But Captain Aaron had tripped JP so that he
could get a hold of JP's ankle. Captain Aaron had
put the ankle lock on JP. JP screamed for mercy
with his sweat forming a pool. Captain Aaron had
let go of JP's ankle and stated, "Thank God for
wrestling!"
"System override, system override. Begin total
shut down in five seconds, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Total
shutdown." Captain Aaron had tried to get contact
but contact was impossible. Yet the cry of E7
filled Captain Aaron's ears.
"Someone has to go in the machinery and check
the memory bank," announced Captain Aaron.
" Not me, not me!" One by one everyone refused
to go, but Nalani refused to stay stranded in
space. So Nalani and Jonathan tried their best to
get the system running. Nalani's legs wobbled as
she entered the code for the system to turn on
again. Jonathan stood there with his eyes stationed
on Nalani. Jonathan made every breath short with
his patience held up in his head.
"System on," everyone jumped up and down with
their legs in a motion of no control. Their vocal
chords were unleashed with screams for being saved
showed that miracles do come true.
A few minutes later Captain Aaron gets contact
with NASA.
With worriedness, the NASA workers replied,
"What happened? We thought you guys got knocked out
of orbit."
"Don't worry, E7 is back in action," replied
Captain Aaron with merriment.
"E7, your navigation is correct and will be
clear to land in an hour," announced NASA.
"So Victoria what's your story going to be
about?," asked Nalani.
Victoria answered with serious confidence,"I
don't know but you'll be seeing my story front page
of the New York Times."
"Well first of all let's take it day by day.
Your story will need its insights. Tomorrow will be
another day of building cooperation," grunted
Nalani.
