The Terrifying Adventure on Planet
Oobleck
Does one know that being on a planet with
different kinds of people would be so hard? Well,
if you didn't, you soon will.
Two months before take off for planet Oobleck,
the crew of the spaceship started to meet to
discuss what they would be doing on the planet.
The crew included Raymund, Taylor, Kyla, Jared,
Kalyn, Jordyn, and Alan. Raymund who was the
Navigator, explained to them what the planet looked
like, when they would be leaving, how long they'd
be up there, what kind of dangers they needed to be
aware of, and much, much more.
When Raymund told them there were Oobleckians
that were able to destroy a person within seconds,
it got everybody going.
"They have fatal weapons that are much more
superior than the weapons on Earth. They live on
the bottom of the ocean and sleep most of the day.
However, they are easily awakened, even by very
faint sounds. So in order to get back to Earth
alive, we will have to be very quiet while on the
planet so we won't wake them up," said Raymund.
"On February 8, 2418 we will be leaving for
planet Oobleck. The spaceship will lift off at
6:00 am. It will take approximately three months
and two hours to get to planet Oobleck. Therefore,
we should be landing there at 8:00 am on May 8,
2418. We'll be staying there one day only and be
leaving at 7:00 am the next day. This means we'll
be back on Earth on August 9, 2418 at around 9:00
am," explained Raymund.
One day before take off everybody on the team
was very eager and tense. They were thrilled to be
going to planet Oobleck but they were also very
uneasy about arriving there all right and returning
back to Earth in one piece. You could they were
energized by the shin in their eyes and the
enthusiasm in their voice. Nevertheless, you could
also tell they were worried by the wobbling in
their knees and the crackle in their voice when
they talk about the dangers up on the planet.
The very next day, everybody was up early
gearing up for their immense trip. When everybody
was at the takeoff site, they boarded the spaceship
and prepared for takeoff, at exactly 6:00 am, they
took off.
It was a very lengthy and dull three months and
two hours to planet Oobleck. The only things that
they did all day long were sleep, eat, play cards,
and space walk. There wasn't anything else to do
on the spaceship.
By the time they arrived at planet Oobleck, it
was around 8:30 am three months and two hours
later, and they were all very exhausted and stiff.
Their legs felt as heavy as a car and they were as
stiff as a tree trunk. No one wanted to move about
from where they were, but Raymund ordered them to
get moving so they could be away from there as
quickly as possible and be back on Earth earlier
than anticipated.
As soon as he finished yelling at them, they
instantly went to work.
Twelve hours later they were finished gathering
their research and doing experiments. All of the
crew members were worn out from such a long day,
and they were also very hungry.
They had gone the entire day without waking the
Oobleckians up but it seemed as if that wouldn't
last very long because Taylor could see a group of
figures on the horizon. She alerted everybody and
they all rushed into the spaceship.
When Raymund tried to start the engine, it
wouldn't start! So, he began to try and figure out
why it wasn't running. He couldn't figure out what
was wrong. Mean while, the Oobleckians were
getting nearer and nearer to them. Everybody was
trying to help Raymund figure out what was wrong,
but all they succeeded in doing was make it harder
for him to focus. Since everybody was panicking,
they were all pressing different buttons that did
different things, and that wasn't helping the
engine to start up.
"Everybody, stop what you're doing right now and
calm down. If we don't get this spaceship to start
soon, we'll all be dead!" ordered Raymund. "Look
out your window and see how close they're coming,
if we don't calm down now and work together, nobody
on Earth will ever see you again."
After a minute of looking over all of the
gauges, Raymund realized that they had run out of
fuel. He had forgotten to refill the tank while
waiting for the rest of the crew to come back from
their researching.
"Alan, since you are not doing anything, hurry
up and refill the tank," said Raymund.
Fortunately, the spaceship ran on food and not
gas, because it would've taken much longer to
refill the tank than to put food in it. Also, if
they had gas as fuel, somebody would've had to go
outside and put their life in jeopardy for the
others.
Alan had finished refilling the tank just in
time. As soon as they lifted off, the Oobleckians
were right where they had just been and they were
trying to grab at the spaceship and pull it
down.
