Space Adventures

It was December first 2040 at 8:00 am. The dew was fresh on the trees and grass at Kennedy space Center The morning air was cool and crisp. Towering speakers loudly crackled 10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1! There was a rumbling sound under the shuttle then someone yelled,"lift off!" The USS Corkshut was flying full speed ahead to the planet Oobleck. The take off was smooth as everyone yelled in joy. Everyone aboard stared out the window as the Earth became smaller and smaller.

In hyper space Assistant Captain John, spotted something in the distance. Then he saw some red flashes. He finally came to a conclusion that it was UFOs trying to zap them and destroy their space craft. Captain Keola told his assistant , John to steer so he would be able to shoot at the UFOs.Captain Keola kept on shooting and shooting, almost hitting the UFOs but missed. Assistant Captain John told the Captain, that he would help in the attack. But Captain Keola shrugged him off. He continued to misfire. They almost got hit but luckily John dodged the red streak of light as it whizzed by.

It took a long time for the Captain to get rid of the UFOs.But it finally ended with the last ship exploding in a eye blinding green flash.

A passenger named Keli'i asked if they needed any help. Captain Keola yelled back fiercely saying,"I don't need help and especially not from you!"Keli'i slowly backed away cautiously mumbling,"I just thought you could need a little help." Keola always made the calls. He gives orders and doesn't take any from anyone.

They were on their way once again to the plant Oobleck. Nothing was in their way now that Keola got rid of those UFOs. But they guessed wrongly. Disaster struck just as they were nearing the planet Oobleck. Meteors were just ahead of them, directly in their path. they could not dodge this. They were surrounded.

Captain Keola immediately took command of one of the lasers and started firing at everything in their path. John asked if he needed any help but he yelled back,"NO!" John backed away. He stood there and watched every meteor be blown to smithereens.

As he was watching, he heard the elevator door pop open. It was Keli'i. John gave him a certain kind of look which made Keli'i know that there was no help needed. Keli'i and John watched as their captain zapped each meteor like he was a little kid playing a video game. Not one meteor came close to the USS Corkshut

When it was over, Keola chanted,"who's da man!?who's da man!?Keola is da man!?" Assistant Captain John just leaned back and rolled his eyes in irritation.

They were now back on track nearing the planet Oobleck. As they approached the the green sea of Oobleck the USS Corkshut gently placed itself in the muck using a big cork under them as a flotation device.

Captain Keola finally sat back and relaxed in the USS Corkshut listening to laughter and the ringing of machines in Dave and Busters. He breathed with ease now that everything was perfect.

Assistant Captain John was on the look out when he saw something emerging out of the Oobleck. Two big red eyes appeared. They became bigger and bigger as it became closer and closer. All of a sudden the USS Corkshut disappeared under the green mystery. All they could see was the green color of the Oobleck.

Captain Keola took over everything pushing John aside. The captain frantically pressed all buttons he could get his fingers on. Trying anything to free the USS Corkshut from the grip of the alien monster.

One of the passengers named Koa yelled,"We're all going to die. These five simple words created total chaos in the ship. Keola tried shooting the laser but it did not work under the Oobleck. John kept on telling Keola that together they could escape the monster or everyone will die. Keola kept on shaking his head saying,"no,no,no." He finally came to his senses and let John help.

John remembered that Oobleck with heat. So right away John turned on the rockets hoping that they would work. He heard a rumble under the ship. The rockets were on. The Oobleck quickly hardened around the monster and he let go of the ship.

They quickly floated to the surface. With the rockets already on, John released the helium balloons in to the air, at the same time Keola released the big cork leaving it at the Oobleck. Just as they left off, the monster leaped out of the Oobleck and grabbed the bottom of the ship. But with pinpoint accuracy John shot it between its eyes. It fell back into the Oobleck. They were home free. In the background John and Keola heard everyone cheering. On the way home there were spectacular sites of stars, planets, and beautiful home sweet home, Earth.
