DIALOGUE JOURNAL

WHO: You write a letter to Mr. Williams.

WHAT: The letter should be approximately one page in length. It can be hand-written or typed. The letter can be about anything. Some ideas are &emdash; tell me about yourself, your family, your friends, how is school going, a movie you recently saw, or sports. Be careful about what you include in your letter to me. If you misplace or lose your sketchbook and someone finds it, your letter may be read by someone else. Also, I am legally obligated to report such instances as child abuse and criminal actions.

I will write a short response to your letter to me.

WHEN: Check the calendar for due dates.

WHERE: The dialogue journal can be written in your sketchbook (preferred) or on a separate sheet of paper.

WHY: The purpose of the dialogue journal is to provide an opportunity for you and I to get to know one another. Also, the dialogue journal provides a way to ask questions or seek advice on topics you may not want to bring up in the class. The dialogue journal is designed for you to keep a written account o problems and situations you are going through at this point in your life. It would be great if you kept your journals and one day re-read them.
