Meat Club Sign-Ups

Want to be a member of the Meat Club? Students need to be in good academic and behavioral standing, commit to attending all meetings, and participate in the community service projects.

Meat The Parents

Members will be cleaning our KMS campus while their families are learning about the Meat Club. After the clean up and meeting we will have our traditional barbecue. A great opportunity to "meat" one another!

Mauna Ala Project

We will learn about the history of our Ali'i and Mauna Ala from Uncle Bill Maioho. After a short tour, we then present a ho'okupu to Princess Pauahi. Finally, we show our gratitude by doing what we can to make this sacred place a little nicer.

Fundraiser Car Wash @ Terminal

Bring a bucket, sponge, and chamois to our annual car wash fundraiser. We will decide what to do with the money earned. Maybe help with the cost of our neighbor island trip?

Meat Club Goal: $500

Homeroom Canned Food Contest

Project Makana, started in 1997, provides canned goods and non-perishables to needy Kamehameha families. The canned food collected from our homeroom contest will be donated to Project Makana.

Students' Planned Projects

Our members, especially the officers, will have the responsibility to plan the Meat Club projects for January and February. Using mind-mapping techniques, we will choose a theme and then plan our project. Students will be assigned particular tasks prior to the project date to ensure we are ready for the activity.

Neighbor Island Trip

We will be planning a weekend trip to the Big Island, Maui, or Kauai. While there, we will be doing an assortment of community service activities and taking some time to see the sites.

Project With Punahou Meat Club

The KMS Meat Club will be joining forces with the Punahou Meat Club to do a community service project. We will plan to conclude the project with a barbecue at our pool.

Kawaiaha'o Church Project

Our club takes a tour and learns about the history of the "Stone House of Worship". We help them in any way we can and finally have our barbecue there.

Campus Improvement Paint Project

We will be performing campus improvement projects including painting selected areas.

Campus Improvement Paint Project & BBQ @ Dr. Chun's

Our final project of the year. Dr. Chun is a great supporter of the Meat Club and has graciously offered to host us. Last year he provided one pound T-Bone Steaks for all! I wonder what he will bring to our potluck this year...

KMS Meat Club Pono Awards

This award honors one faculty, staff, or administrator and a male and female middle school student for their outstanding display of character, high morals and values, and servant leadership in their community - things Princess Pauahi demonstrated, cherished, and valued. A certificate and small award is given as well as certificates of honorable mention for those nominated.
