"The Devil's Own Day."

There were more casualties in the Battle of Shiloh, than in all other previous battles combine. General Sherman would later refer to this battle as being, "The Devil's own day." The Battle of Shiloh is famed for letting the world know that the Civil War serious. After fighting in this battle, soldiers from both sides realized that the war was not going to be short-lived. There was some other research done and what was found was that the word, "Shiloh", meant place of peace, but as we all see this was not a place of peace. The truth was that this battle was the largest battle in the Civil War till then.
