Battle of Shiloh
Scientist Page

The date is April sixth of 1862. It was a fairly cold day when this all happened. It was about fifty nine degrees, and the average rainfall for this month is 4.4 inches of rain. This battle was a bloodbath, it was one of the many battles that were fought in Tennessee two hundred to be exact. Only Virginia has more battles fought than Tennessee. This war was obviously fought during the spring, early spring actually. Shiloh was the largest battle up till than that was fought during the Civil War.

The weapon that t I had to research was the Quaker Gun. The Quaker Gun is a log that has the features of a cannon. Basically it's to make the enemy afraid of the fort that is ahead of them. The purpose for these guns were to make it look like they had more cannons then they really did

There were a lot of different tools that were used for medical treatment. A lot of the tools were used for more than one person in the medical room. In comparison the equipment then and the equipment now is different, thank God it's different. If we had the ancient tools then I wouldn't go to the hospital. I can't imagine how painful it was to have your leg cut off when you're drunk. There were nothing as good as there is now as far as numbing the patient. There were some patients that refused to go through the process of having some kind of surgery or medical treatment and they ended up with gangrene, but that's a whole different story.

Here is a topographic map of the route that both armies had taken during the battle. The land and everything might be different because of natural things such as rain and other things but it should be sort of the same path that they took. If you look close enough then you can see that the green is the dominate color and red is the opposite. The bright blue is the Union army and the bright pink is the confederate army. Throughout the two day battle many men were killed. Eventually the Union won this battle.
