Double Attack at South Mountain

Maryland is widely known as a very beautiful place on the east side of North America, but to some it is known as the place where the Battle of South Mountain was fought. One deadly morning on September 14, 1862, General McClellan of the Union side and General Lee of the Confederate side raged a battle at Turner's Gap and Crampton's Gap. General Lee was fed up with losing the Second Bull Run (Manasass) and decided to move his troops north in hopes of influencing the northeners. But, General McClellan soon found out about General Lee's plans and stopped him from moving north at the Battle of South Mountain
