The Battle of Fredericksburg was an unusual battle that took place on December 13, 1862. The one day battle's major advantage was all about how well you were positioned on the battlefield. Although General Ambrose Burnside of the Union Army was at higher ground, General Robert E. Lee's Army was hidden underneath a bridge which protected the Confederate Army from bullets shot down. Although the Union Army had an advantage of more troops going into battle, the Confederate Army pulled through with less deaths even though they didn't have as many soldiers. The Battle of Fredericksburg was a thrilling and exciting battle and I hope you'll have fun journeying through this part ofthe web page!
