The Battle of the Wilderness

Typhoid Fever was a very common disease that people caught in the civil war. This disease is an infection that is transmitted to other persons by contamination of drinking water or food. It is characterized by high fever, headache, generalized pains, drowsiness, cough, abdominal discomfort, and constipation or diarrhea. It usually lasts about 10 days. Before the early 20h century typhoid fever was a common disease that occurred in large epidemics everywhere. You could possibly die after a week or two. It occurs only in man an cannot easily be reproduced in experimental animals.

During the Battle of the Wilderness the weather was actually really great, there were no clouds in the sky and it was very hot and sunny so therefore the temperature must be have been really hot back during that battle. The battle of the Wilderness took place in the month of May in Virginia. Now days the temperature in Virginia during the month of May is around 66 degrees and the precipitation is approximately 3.8 inches.
