Kenny Saw the Battle Main Page ![]() During the summer of 1864, the Union moved their troops eastward to meet up with the Western and Atlantic railroad. The Confederates tried to block the Union by making a long blockade. Their blockade was fairly thin and Sherman saw his opportunity to perform a frontal assault on the Confederates. He assumed he would have the victory, but the Confederates came back stronger than ever. |
