Kenny Saw the Battle Main Page  During the summer of 1864, the Union moved their troops eastward to meet up with the Western and Atlantic railroad. The Confederates tried to block the Union by making a long blockade. Their blockade was fairly thin and Sherman saw his opportunity to perform a frontal assault on the Confederates. He assumed he would have the victory, but the Confederates came back stronger than ever. |
