Battle of Fort McAllister
Song Page

Sung to the Tune of Yankee Doodle

Fort McAllister went to war
with powerful union forces.
At the outbreak of the civil war,
we gathered all our horses.

They had their three iron clads,
patapsco, passaic, nahant.
They bombed us for eight hours straight,
And more cannons we want.

But good ol' Fort McAllister,
she still stands there today
Cause the union forces couldn't
bomb that fort that day...day...daaaaaaay!
