This story starts off as the goddess Pele has a dream of creating islands. As she moved up she found a perfect place for dream to come true, where the Hawaiian islands are found today.

So she had went with all her brothers and sisters and created Kaua’i the first Hawaiian island. She staid their only for a little while. Then moved to the island of O’ahu that is where she had staid for a long time. Going about the island Pele threw the new islands of Molokia, Lana’I and Ko’oholawei.
The island of Maui had taken her a very long time to make. Mt. Haleakala was fro the sun so she could always visit it. Pele was still not yet satisfied so she began on her last island, Hawaii. She began with the Kohala Mountains then Kilawea, Mauna Loa and the tallest mountain on an island, Mauna Kea.
The legend says that if you pluck the beautiful lehua blossom on the Ohia tree she will send down pouring rain on to who ever plucks it.
