The Flying War Club retold here by Kamuela
Palila, part-man, part-spirit receives a magical war club after completing his training with the war club. Palila decides to fly around, helping with noble and worthy causes. On the island of O‘ahu, he fights a shark man and a giant named Olomano, almost losing his life to the giant . As Palila fought the overly confident giant Palila manages to dodge Olomano's attack and fly up to the giant and swing is magical war club at him. It was this task, fighting the giant Olomao, that Palila realizes a flaw in his goal to do only noble deeds. Palila was doing these deeds for the Chief of O‘ahu, Ahu-a-pau. Palila returns to the chief from whom he received the message realizing that he, the chief, had bribed him and only cared for the safety of himself. From then on, he made sure he would not be fooled. Later in his life he helps with a war to the side with the innocence. He manages to see the difference in the sides, one side has very powerful warriors and the other side had normal rank warriors, strong nonetheless. Palila asks the chief of the opposing side, chief of Hamakua, to summon forth his most power full warriors and the victor will be decided between their warriors and Palila himself. The three strongest warriors of equal strength were summoned and swing fiercely at Palila, however Palila swung faster vertical, horizontal, and diagonal and won, from then on he always accomplished noble deeds.
