INTRODUCTION:

Have you ever done something really bad? Well, in this story, a man named Nakoa did something awful. He broke the kapu of the land, and so a chief from Kukuihaele chased him.

Nakoa lived on the island of Maui, and rarely spoke to anyone, not even his neighbor. Because the villagers knew almost nothing about Nakoa, they thought he was a strange man. Later, Nakoa had a strange dream that told him to look over the bay of piilani for a cloud shaped like a pointing finger. He was to follow that cloud. Would the cloud lead Nakoa to safety, or to a dangerous area? Whether it was trap or not, Nakoa, chose to go because he was already on the run from the Chief of Kukuihaele. Would Nakoa be brought where he can climb three long hills and reach the top of Pu‘uohoku, Hill of the Stars? Could he tell Lanikaula, a friend who has helped him before, about the journey, or will Nakoa run into the chief and surely be killed?

In life, we all make good and bad decisions. Well, Nakoa made a bad one with extreme consequences. Listen to this action packed legend about Nakoa.
