You may have about how Maui caught the sun and the islands, or how he made the first kite, or discovered out how to make fire. Well, I’ll bet you haven’t ever heard this version of the legend of when Maui founds the island because this is the Wai‘anae Version. In this version he does not discover the islands here Maui tries to bring the islands together as one. In desperate manner he tries to do this to his best abiity will he or will he not be able to do this?
